Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her first appearances on Broadway include the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She won the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors on stage and screen throughout all her life. Ashford's upcoming project is a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford's most recent film involves Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's digital platforms. Ashford returns to Broadway in March 2023, where he'll play Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place taking place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford has acted as Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's brand new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the national story of a scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main character. In two seasons, Ashford played a prominent role in the hit show on CBS called B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her character Essie on You Can't Take It with You. Also, she has appeared in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first part as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides her days between Los Angeles, and New York.
