Kellie Martin (born Kellie Marien) is an acclaimed American actress. She has starred in numerous TV shows like "Christy", the drama about a young woman called Christy Huddleston. In addition, she is famous for her role as the main character in her own Hailey Dean Mystery television series. Martin, the daughter of a department store buyer and kindergarten teacher, began her professional career as an actress at age seven. Her aunt who worked as the nanny of Michael Landon's children helped Martin land a role in 1982 series "Father Murphy". When she graduated from Yale University she began to pursue acting with a seriousness and landed roles on the small and large screen. Martin was also as a dancer and photographer. A mother of two, Martin is the spokesperson for the nation for Lupus and has been raising awareness about the condition since her sister died of it in the age of 19.
